Walking in Bohinj valley is simply amazing. You have so many different options where to go and how long your walk will be. More than half of the Bohinj valley is located in the Triglav National Park and also some of the most famous long distance walking trails like the Juliana Trail are passing through the valley. We have designed a perfect 8 days / 7 nights walking adventure where you will during your walks visit top attractions in the valley. If you combine perfect walks with carefully selected hiker friendly accommodation you get the best possible combination of an exceptional walking experience in the Julian Alps.
Day 1
welcome to our paradise
This day is your arrival to the Bohinj valley and after checking in at your accommodation you will have a welcome meeting where you will get all the final information and materials for your walking in Bohinj. If you arrive early you can already use this day for a short warm up walk. Since you will be center based you can choose what walk you will do on each day.
Day 2
gORGES & WATERFALLS
For the first walk in Bohinj valley we suggest you to visit the Mostnica river gorge and Voje valley. On this beautiful scenic hike you will have the chance to really experience the power of water and enjoy in many interesting rock formations that water created through thousands of years. You will hike all the way to the end of the valley where Mostnica river springs at the Voje waterfall.

Day 3
MAEDOWS & VIEWPOINTS
On day 3 we invite you to hike above the Bohinj valley to Vogar meadow and visit two of the most spectacular viewpoints on lake Bohinj and the Juilan Alps. On the meadow you will also find a mountain hut, where you can take a break, try some real mountain food and enjoy the mountain life.

Day 4
FAMOUS WATERFALL & scenic BOHINJ lake
This day you will be hiking around the largest permanent lake in Slovenia, lake Bohinj. Your hike will take you all the way to the end of the valley where the famous Savica waterfall is. We have a few options how you can hike along the south side of the lake on your way back and we will be happy to share them with you. If you want to shorten this hike you can use the electrical boat from one side of the lake to the other.

Day 5
2 VALLEYS IN 1 DAY
A really interesting and picturesque walk that will take you through lower and upper Bohinj valley. You will hike through picturesque villages, green meadows and forests and enjoy amazing views on the high peaks of the Julian Alps.

Day 6
VIEWPOINTS & ALPINE FLOWERS
Today you will climb to Rudnica hill that offers amazing views on the entire Bohinj valley. Your hike will start in Stara Fuzina village and very soon you will rise above the valley and cross beautiful meadows full of alpine flowers. Once you reach the top you can admire the landscape, amazing views and enjoy the peaceful nature. On the way back you will also visit one of the most famous lake viewpoints, Pec. From there you return back to the valley and use the rest of the day for relaxing or some other sport activities.

Day 7
LET’S GO HIGHER
For your final walk we invite you to go a bit higher. Take a ride with the Vogel ski center cable car to the winter ski resort and do a hike in the area that will be full of amazing views and stunning nature. You can choose how long your walk will be, because your start and finish on this day is at the upper cable car station. Before returning to the valley we definitely recommend lunch or coffee break in one of the restaurants on the hill.

When to come
The best time to do the hike is from April to the end of October. Please note that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, so in April you can encounter some snow on higher lying areas.
