Chalet has Bohinjsko-From Bohinj certificate and Slovenia Outdoor specialisation for hiking and cycling, so you can get all the information about activities in one place. We also offer top quality gravel and electric bike rental. The location of the chalet in the middle of Stara Fuzina also offers an excellent starting point for hiking trips to the Mostnica Gorge, the Bohinj mountains and Triglav. The Juliana Trail, the Slovenian Touring Cycling Trail (STKP) and the Klodic Cycling Trail, which connects the lower and upper Bohinj valley, pass by the house and are just 2 minutes away.
The owners, Grega and Maja, will do their best to make you fill like at home and welcome. Grega is licensed hiking and cycling guide and Maja is certified Forest Therapy Guide. They will be happy to take you on a guided experience, give you tips about local restaurants, or advise you where to go on a self-guided hiking or biking trip.

WALK #1: Vogar mountain with lunch in the mountain hut



Vogar mountain rises just above the Bohinj lake in the centre of Slovenia’s Triglav national park and offers amazing views on Bohinj valley, lake and Bohinj mountains. There are two stunning viewpoints on the mountain together with a picutresque mountain hut, where you can taste typical and traditional Slovenian mountain food.

WALK #2: Mostnica GORGE and Voje valley with strudel in the hut



Through the thousands of years the river Mostnica has carved a 2km long canyon that ends under the Devils bridge right on the outskirts of the Stara Fuzina village in our only national park in Slovenia. Start your hike in the Stara Fuzina village in the centre of Slovenia’s Triglav National Park, explore the Mostnica gorge and walk all the way to picturesque Voje valley and visit the beautiful Mostnica waterfall. There are two mountain huts in Voje valley so you don’t have to bring much food and snacks on this tour. Try some of the typical mountain meals and get in touch with the locals.

Difficulty: easy – intermediate
Note: There is an entrance fee that you pay at the entrance to the Mostnica gorge. Mountain huts don’t accept cash so make sure to have some with if you want to taste that traditional mountain stews or fresh baked Strudl.
WALK #3: Around the Bohinj lake to Savica waterfall



With this hike you will combine walk around the largest permanent lake and visit of the most popular waterfall in Slovenia’s Triglav National Park. Start along the north shore of the lake all the way to Ukanc village and then continue all the way to the waterfall viewpoint. Return back to the village the same way you came, walk through the village passing the campsite and continue you trip on the footpath next to the road on the south side of the lake.

Vertical meters: 359 m
Difficulty: easy – intermediate
Note: There is an entrance fee that you pay when visiting the Savica waterfall. You can shorten your hike by taking a bus or an electric boat from Ukanc to Ribcev Laz village.

This is the perfect place to explore the mountains. Very scenic and quiet. Far away from any busy areas, close enough to facilities like stores and restaurants and of course in the middle of the stunning national park. We did enjoy every minute and can only recommend this place, especially if you look for relaxation.
A hidden gem in the Slovenian mountain. Fantastic place to relax, bbq & live easy. Truly magical and recommended for a few nights!
Maja is an exceptional host. Great communication throughout. She is warm and friendly. Her clean cabin is cozy and just as described. It is quaint in a peaceful and relaxing setting. Hearing cowbells in the morning is a bonus!
We had a very nice, quiet and lovely at the chalet. The amazing views and modern, but very cute interior gave us the best holiday we could have imagined. Would definitely recommend!
