Day by day itinerary

Day 1 will start with a welcome meeting, where you will get all final information and materials for your trip. You will start your hike on the east side of lake Bohinj in the village Ribcev Laz. The hike will take you along the largest lake in Slovenia. Soon you will reach the west side of the lake and picturesque village Ukanc. From here you will slowly start to ascent to the very end of the Bohinj valley. Before you start your climb to the mountain hut, we encourage you to hike up the Savica waterfall; the most visited waterfall in Slovenia. After the optional visit of the waterfall, you will do a nice 2h hike up to a mountain hut, where you will be spending the night. If you will be early and will still have the energy for an extra hike, you have multiple options for nice hikes straight from the hut. A good alternative is also relaxing on the terrace of the hut, having a well deserved beer or tea and overviewing down to the Bohinj valley and the lake.

TECHNICAL DATA:
- ascent: 1150 v.m.
- distance: 13.5 km
- duration: 5 - 6h
After delicious mountain breakfast you will hike into the famous Valley of the seven Triglav lakes. This area was protected already in 1924. On todays hike you will have the chance to admire the beauties of the Julian Alps and clear mountain lakes. There are seven lakes in total and regardless what route you choose to take, you will experience at least two. Once you will reach your mountain hut, we recommend a nice alpine lunch. If you are up for more, you can easily extend your hike and if you will be lucky you can spot a marmot, chamois or even an alpine eagle on this day. In the evening we suggest to go out and experience amazing night sky with no light pollution whatsoever. This is a unique opportunity for you as there are only few such spots in the world.

TECHNICAL DATA:
- ascent: 700 v.m.
- distance: 7.5 km
- descent: 500 v.m.
- duration: 3 - 5h
Today you will leave the Valley of the seven Triglav lakes and hike across some of the most famous meadows in Slovenia. The so called "Fuznarske planine" are still alive with live stock and the shepherds still spend their summers in the mountains. Their days go by really fast, as they are working all day long, taking care of the animals and making the famous Bohinj cheese, that is known all over the world. A very picturesque hike will end by a mountain hut, where you will be served with a typical mountain dinner, so we are sure that you will sleep well tonight. If you are a fast hiker an optional extra hike in the surroundings of the hut is possible on this day as well.

TECHNICAL DATA:
- ascent: 100 v.m.
- distance: 6 km
- descent: 340 v.m.
- duration: 5 - 7h
The last day of your hiking in the Julian Alps will be a special one as well. You will be mostly descending today and after a good hour long hike, you will reach a meadow called Vogar, from where you can find some of the nicest viewpoints towards the Bohinj lake. There is a mountain hut as well, where you can make a stop for coffee or tea, before you continue descending all the way to the valley. You will finish your hike in the village Stara Fuzina, that is located close to the lake. We suggest that you reward yourself with a swim in the lake, a nice lunch in one of the local restaurants and relive all the amazing things that you have experienced during your hiking in the Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park.
