Day by day itinerary

Before you start your hiking experience you will have a welcome meeting where you will get all the final information and materials for your hiking tour on the Bohinj ridge. You will start your hike in the largest village in Bohinj, Bohinjska Bistrica and hike to the oldest Slovenian mountain hut. We suggest that you do a break there and enjoy the amazing views on mt. Triglav, before you continue to Crna prst, where you will spend your fist night.

- duration: 5-6 hours
On this day you will cross the Bohinj ridge and descend into Baca river valley like the Bohinj locals did for many years in the past. The hike will be mostly downhill and you will have the chance to enjoy the hike in crowd free and amazing landscape. Once you reach the Podbrdo village your hike for the day is done and you can reward yourself with a beer or a glass of Slovenian vine in local pub, before you check in at your accommodation.

- descent: 1300 m
- duration: 4 hours
On day 3 you will hike on the Juliana trail and you will hike up to Baca saddle where you will be awarded with an amazing view on the Baca valley. From the saddle you will hike on old WW1 mule trails that will bring you all the way to the top of mt. Lajnar. Below you will already see your accommodation for the night as you will descend down to the second highest pass in Slovenia - Bohinj saddle (1277m).

- duration: 5-6 hours
The last hike of the tour will bring you back to Bohinj valley and Bohinjska Bistrica. Soon after you start your hike you will join the Juilana trail and you will descend down to the valley crossing alpine pastures and Nemski Rovt village. Once you reach Bohinjska Bistrica your hiking tour is done and we hope that the memories of the hike will stay with you for a long time.

Best time to come:

The best time to do the hike is from April to the end of October. Please note that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, so in April you can encounter some snow on higher lying areas.
